Scolmore are looking to recruit a Group MIS Manager. The MIS Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and optimization of all business software applications and ensuring their alignment with business goals. The role includes managing software systems, overseeing software upgrades, and ensuring that business data is securely managed and available for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management
Lead, manage, and develop the MIS team, including product experts and business analysts, to ensure effective support for all business software systems.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, encouraging open communication and cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, offering professional development opportunities to help them grow in their roles.
Ensure the team has the necessary skills and knowledge to optimise software systems and provide ongoing support.
Manage performance, setting clear expectations and objectives for team members, and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
Software Ownership and Management
Manage and oversee the business software applications, including ERP, WMS, CRM, and other internal systems.
Ensure licensing compliance for all software and manage renewals and contracts with vendors.
Develop and implement software update processes, ensuring timely upgrades and minimal downtime.
Business Process Improvement
Collaborate with business units to identify software solutions that improve operational efficiency and business processes.
Provide proactive recommendations for improvements based on software performance and user feedback.
Vendor and Supplier Management
Manage relationships with software vendors, ensuring the best value and service for the organisation.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Collaboration and Integration
Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration between software and infrastructure systems.
Ensure all systems are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals and that data is consistently managed and available.
Security and Data Management
Ensure security policies for all business software are in place and adhered to.
Oversee data integrity and backup systems for all business software.
Be responsible for overseeing software security, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as GDPR, data access controls, and encryption.
They will ensure security measures are in place, working closely with the IT Infrastructure team and third-party vendors to ensure security is effectively managed across the software systems. There focus will be on application-level security (software security), ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, data access controls, and encryption.
Training and Support
Oversee and support the implementation of software across other group companies and departments, in collaboration with the PMO and Infrastructure teams.
Establish training sessions for all business units to ensure the proper use of software systems.
Support end-users and provide guidance on system usage and troubleshooting.
Reporting and Analytics
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights to business leadership for informed decision-making.
Ensure data from software systems is accessible, accurate, and actionable.
Collaborate with other IT departments and business units to define KPIs and performance metrics for software systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and system performance.
Research and Development
Research and evaluate new technologies to ensure the software landscape remains competitive and efficient.
Implement new software features or upgrades that improve business processes.
Valuate current systems and assessing the roadmaps of software suppliers to identify potential updates, features, or technologies that would be beneficial to implement for the company.
Engage in ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies, assessing potential updates and improvements for current systems based on vendor roadmaps and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
Experience: At least 5 years in software management and vendor management, with experience in ERP, CRM, WMS, and similar systems.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of software systems and experience managing vendor relationships.
Exceptional communication, project management, and team collaboration abilities.
Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Expertise in data security practices and managing backup solutions.
